The Panel works with us to improve patients, public and carers involvement in all areas of our research work. This includes supporting us in setting our research agenda and the delivery of our research projects.

Three key missions of the panel are to provide insights and steer us to ensure the:

  • Research strategy is fit for purpose and relevant to patients, public and carers. This includes the MIC’s three strategic research themes on ageing, infectious diseases and personalised medicine.
  • Individual research projects are informed by patients, public and carers and that they are relevant and responsive to their needs and interests.
  • Communication activities (for example, website, promotional literature etc.) are accessible to a public audience.
